Naomi Campbell is a turncoat in a fur coat.
The model, whose famous face and body once graced a PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) ad decrying fur as fashion, has apparently changed her stripes.
It seems Campbell would indeed rather go naked - as long as she's wearing nothing but a pricey garment made of animal skin.
She's now the star of a campaign for designer Dennis Basso, whose furs sell for up to $200,000.
The ads feature the 29-year-old model wearing a series of coats made of Russian sable, including one image where she is pictured in nothing but a coat.
According to London's Daily Mail, among those calling Campbell a hypocrite is Heather Mills, ex-wife of Paul McCartney, who reportedly wrote Campbell a scathing letter.
But Campbell insists she's at peace with her decision - and with PETA. "Yes, I am still wearing fur," said Campbell, "but I've made up with that guy from Peta." Link
Just when you think these superstars can’t be any more hypocritical in their beliefs, somebody like Naomi Campbell comes along. Once a star of a PETA billboard denouncing the use of fur, she has now posed wearing fur. What it boils down to is that these famous people tend to promote things that are popular or self-serving at the time. But without having actual moral convictions about the subject, they tend to forget what they did and move on. It’s proof positive that campaigns put together by these animal rights activists and radical vegans are nothing more than a passing fad.
